Les chutes de Ryujin
The waterfall has a drop of about 18 meters.
You can cross the bridge to get very close to the waterfall basin. This is a place where you can feel the atmosphere of the upper stream.
Currently, the upper reaches of the waterfall are planted with cedar and cypress trees, which has reduced the volume of water, but in the past, the water volume was high and there was a deep basin.
Many mujinas (badgers) appeared near the waterfall and charmed the villagers, who called it “mujina no taki” (waterfall of mujinas).
A giant snake lurked in the basin of the waterfall, and when it found a mujina that appeared at the waterfall, it would put it in its mouth and pull the mujina into the basin. The serpent looked like a dragon, hence the name “Ryujin no Taki” (Dragon God Falls).

Le serpent ressemblait à un dragon, d’où le nom de “Ryujin no Taki” (chutes du dieu dragon).
Access
Take a bus bound for Kazuma (数馬) from Musashi-Itsukaichi Station (武蔵五日市) and get off at the “Onsen center (温泉センター)” bus stop. Ryujin Falls are about a 3-minute walk from the bus stop.
